Richmond Track and Field
for starters…
I am a student before I became an athlete, but this race was too fantastic for me not to include it here. I take pride in racing and leading my team by example. We won the race, beat our rivals, and won a conference championship medal. This video captures a moment when all the hard work finally paid off. Running in circles for fun is challenging, but it made me into the person I am today. I have understood dedication on another level and am excited to take that with me into my career.
SAAC
SAAC
As President of SAAC, I facilitate the communication link between student-athletes and the athletic department administrators at the University of Richmond. Our E-board works to improve the quality of life for student-athletes at UofR while giving back to our local community.
Designing
Event Planning
As the President, I plan two major monthly events: one Red Event and one SAAC Meeting. A Red Event is organized by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) to encourage all student-athletes to support their fellow spiders at a home game or meet. Every month, we brainstorm the best ways to ensure a large turnout for these events. For SAAC Meetings, 50+ student-athletes meet every first Monday to discuss the month's initiatives. This could involve naming each team’s Unsung Hero or voting on a new initiative for change within the athletic department.
SPIDYs
In my previous role as Vice President of Campus Engagement, I was elected co-chair of the SPIDYs board. In this position, I designed, planned and executed the athletic department wide event.
In my role as a marketing event planner, I was responsible for planning seating arrangements, coordinating arrival times and decorations, choosing speakers, and overseeing the awards.
I spent a lot of time creating graphics and announcements for the SPIDYs. Additionally, I assisted with promotional content, including video promotions and social media posts. This year, we chose the theme "SPIDYs: Chasing Gold," which was inspired by the Olympic Games.
